Equinox Audio was established in 1994 as a specialist loudspeaker manufacturer. Equinox was born out of a passion from Rick Stadelmaier, who felt there was something missing from the loudspeaker industry - hand made, high end speakers, at prices everyone can afford.
Today, Equinox can supply just one pair of stereo speakers, or full home theaters, featuring 7.1 speaker systems, projectors, and automated screens.
Although Equinox is based in Sydney, we deliver all over the country and also have a handful of agents who will be able to help with your needs.

Just a very brief update. Due to many unforeseen incidents including a family member passing away, our super show is to be postponed again.
October and November are to soon, and due to Xmas being smack in the middle of December and January, we will likely have the show in February.
Don't lose hope, it will happen and I will report again soon right here and with email to all those who have registered interest.

Our Super show is to be postponed yet again. Time is unfortunately not on our side, and we are waiting on supplies for our new demo room.
The wait will be worth it, as we have some exciting speaker/amplifier bundles to be had at the show. And naturally the mighty Galaxy will have it's first public showing.
The new scheduled month is September 2008.
(This will be the last time it is postponed, as we have given ourselves more than enough time).

Time for another update, and as many of you may have already guessed, our super show is being delayed by a month or 4.
The construction of our new sound rooms is holding things up a little, as is construction of demo product (and of course normal manufacturing).
We anticipate the show to be held in the month of June, I know this is 4 full months later, however we need to have everything perfect for this occasion.
Once again, I will keep all those who have registered interest by email, and also keep the website updated regularly.
Please note, ALL participants MUST register their interest via email prior to the show and we strongly encourage interstate visitors.

Sometime in March this year (2008) we will be having a super high end audio show
at our Lower Portland premises (click HERE for details). This is predominantly to launch our long awaited
new flagship, the mighty Galaxy. 3 demonstration rooms will be open to the public.
The first system is a modest system comprising 5 x Eclipse speakers, and a
single Equator 0.1 subwoofer. Driving this system will be the Cambridge 540R
receiver, and 540D DVD player.
Optional speakers to be used in this system, Pluto, Solstice, Periphelion.
The second system will comprise the Aphelion speakers, driven by the
Cambridge 840A amplifier and 840C CD player.
Optional speakers to be used in this system, Perigee.
The third and final system will use the awesome Galaxy, setup in a special acoustically treated audio room, being driven by state of the art ancillary equipment from Primare.
The A32 power amp, with the the PRE30 pre-amp, and CD31 CD player.
Optional speakers to be used in this system, Apogee, Jupiter.
All the systems will be configurable for home theatre or 2 channel stereo listening at the time of the show.
The show will only be held in NSW, and we strongly encourage interstate visitors as we have decided not to hold any shows of this type in any other states.

We will be releasing 2 new speaker models in the coming months.
One model will slot right between the Perigee and Apogee, and will share many features with the Apogee, less 2 bass drivers.
The driver arrangement is WMTMW, with a curved and radiused baffle like the Apogee.
It will be priced at approx $5500pr.
The 2nd model is the long awaited Galaxy.
This formidable speaker is our new flagship, featuring a family resemblance to the Jupiter/Apogee, however with more aggressive styling.
With it's 8 x long throw active 300mm sub bass drivers, displacing over 13L, 4000 watts of home grown amplification, and multiple module design. The Galaxy is set to rival the worlds best speakers at any price point.

Production has finally re-commenced after a long battle moving.
Most orders will be processed on a first in first out basis, except for the very small, less time consuming systems.
We still don't have some aspects in full swing, so product auditions, and communication is a little slower than usual, however we are very close to being completely online.
It will still be some months before we have caught up with the backlog, however once that has happened, orders will be produced considerably faster.

Over the next couple of months, product auditions will be limited, due to Equinox
moving premises.
We are moving from our current Vineyard premises, to Sackville, which is 25
minutes north of Vineyard.
We will have a larger factory, and improved demonstration facility.
We also hope that orders will be able shipped much sooner than they have in the
past.
We hope that current orders aren't disturbed too much and that we don't
inconvenience our customers in any way.

It's time for Equinox to exhibit at the Melbourne Home Entertainment Show again.
This year we will have some of our new models, and for the first time at a Melbourne show, our Apogee.
We will also have quite a few old models to sell off, this includes Perigees, Aphelions, Periphelions, and Solstice.

We have a pair of Aphelions using the older Audax drivers up for sale. This particular pair of speakers was going to a customer and were damaged in transit. We have repaired them to almost new condition, except for a minor scratch on one side of one speaker.
It was only the cabinets which were damaged, and the drivers were left unmarked and have been tested to be in perfect working order.
These speakers will come with a full 2 year warranty, and would have normally sold for $2550, they are finished in Jarrah.
We are selling them for $2200. The latest Aphelion is $2800.

Speakers - Equinox is going through a transition stage at present, our main supplier is no longer producing the drivers we require. We are in the process of evaluating several drivers, with some already decided on. Because of this, some demo models will not be available to audition for a little while, so contacting us is advisable. We will also have several superseded demonstration models available at discounted prices very soon.
